Preparation

What should you do before your cleaner arrives?

2 April 2026 · 1 min read · RM & Zee

You do not have to pre-clean. That rather defeats the point. You do need to make the time usable.

Have the products and equipment out. We use what you provide, so the vacuum, mop, cloths and bottles should not be in a locked shed. Put away paperwork, jewellery and anything you would rather not have moved. If the dining table is a landing strip for school bags, a cleaner cannot magically clean under them.

Pets: a note in advance helps. Some dogs are fine. Some are not. A closed door is not a judgement on the dog.

Access at the agreed time matters. If nobody is there and we cannot get in, the visit is treated as missed. That is in the booking policy because it has to be, not because we enjoy saying it.
